West Licking Joint Fire District
I currently serve as a career Fire Chief with the West Licking Joint Fire District West Licking Joint Fire District (WLJFD) which covers 109 square miles, and is one of the largest Fire Districts in the State of Ohio. WLJFD is composed of several different townships, cities, and villages located in Licking County. These include Etna Township, Harrison Township, Jersey Township, Kirkersville, New Albany, Pataskala, and Reynoldsburg.
The District is a combination organization consisting of 60 career uniformed personnel, 3 non uniformed career personnel, approximately 40 part-time personnel, and approximately 30 volunteer personnel that are represented by the West Licking Firefighters Association. The career personnel are represented by IAFF Local 3025 of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
The District protects a residential population of approximately 50,000 residents and responds to approximately 4,500 responses a year from three (3) facilities. The District is currently preparing for the design and construction of a fourth facility. The District is funded by (2) continuous levies and three (3) additional levies that combined total 11.5 mils. The annual operating budget for the District is approximately $9,200,000.00.
